[Mother] Ruth serves her mother-in-law wholeheartedly
Ruth serves her mother-in-law wholeheartedly.
In the Bible, it is not common that someone who is not Israel people be written in the genealogy among twelve tribes. Here's an exception to that. It is 'Ruth'. Ruth is one of my favorite characters of the Bible.
Mt 1:5~6 Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of King David.
Ruth was the the mother of grandfather of King David, she was great-grandmother of King David, so to speak. But then how was she recorded in the history of Israelite? It is because God the LORD accepted her like His people.
Ru 1:16 Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you; mother-in-law, or to turn back from you, Naomi. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.
When someone's husband dies and she remains childless, it is naturally regarded that she doesn't have any responsibility to take care of her mother-in-law or parents-in-law. Even more Naomi, who was the mother-in-law, urged Ruth to leave her and find the new husband, but Ruth turned down her suggestion and made up her mind to keep serving her, saying, "Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay."
I want to be like another Ruth, who served Naomi well with all her heart. I will do serve my Heavenly Mother with all my heart and mind until we enter the kingdom of heaven, saying, "Wherever you go, I'll follow you."
