[Sermon] The Spiritual City of Refuge and the Earth (1)

The Spiritual City of Refuge and the Earth.

The city of refuge reminds me of 'the evacuation shelter' where the victims escape the irresistible disasters or calamities and flee to. If people could not escape and get in there, they would die without any chance to live a life.

There is the similar system/regulation in the Old Testament times, which is the city of refuge. In order to flee to the city of refuge, he should meet several conditions and then he can be qualified to be accepted.

Nu 35:10~12 They will be cities of refuge from avenger, so that a person accused of murder may not die before he stands trial before the assembly.

The matter is that when the accused who are guilty of involuntary manslaughter and flee to the city of refuge can come out, even though he entered there.

Does he determine the day to finish his period in the place of refuge? Does he pay a ransom of his unlawful killing to avenger and go back to his own land?

In conclusion, it is impossible. The only way to come out from the city of refuge is that the high priest must die and then he may return to his hometown. That was the most serious and strict rule of the place of refuge.

Nu 35:28~32 The accused must stay in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest; only after the death of the high priest may he return to his own property. Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die.

Only after the death of the high priest, the prisoners can return to his own property and meet his long-lost family.

We're sinners who committed grievous sins in heaven and were expelled to the earth; the spiritual city of refuge. Heavenly Father, Christ Ahnsahnghong came again a second time as the High Priest and laid his life down for sinners, the spiritual prisoners in the city of refuge so that we can go back to the kingdom of heaven; our spiritual hometown.

To be clothed with the precious blood of the High Priest Christ Ahnsahnghong, we have to repent our sins and then meet our long-lost our family in heavenly country.
