[Basic] The Passover (7) - The Passover, the New Covenant

Image
All Christians who're believing in God, both the Catholic churches and the Protestant churches, acknowledge that the old covenant was made with God the Father in the Old Testament times and the new covenant was made with Jesus in the New Testament times. Also they boast by themselves that they keep Moses' Ten Commandment which was regarded as the old covenant but they don't know about the new covenant exactly. Then what is the new covenant? Jesus Christ mentioned it for the first time on the day of the Passover. Lk 22:19~20 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This in my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. Then what is the Passover regarded as the new covenant? It is the most important God's feast through which His people is saved and freed from their sins and death.

[Basic] The Passover (6) - The Passover, the Ladder to Heaven

Image
If someone wants to travel to foreign country, how does he do? He will take a plane to get there. And if someone wants to go diving into the deep blue sea, how does he do? He will prepare the diving equipment such as snorkeling or scuba diving. And if someone wants to go up to the mountain, how does he do? He will check the hiking equipment not to get any unexpected contingency. Then if we want to go to heaven where God is waiting for us to come to Him? Is there a special secret you know? Any special equipment or amazing vehicles? Fortunately God's people have been given the secret by which we can go up to the mountain of heavenly country. Lk 8:10 The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables. The top secret to go back to the kingdom of heaven is to keep the Passover which is the ladder, the special equipment leading us to the salvation. Step by step when we climb up the ladder steadily and faithfully, after all

[Basic] The Passover (5) - The Passover Containing God's Love and Sacrifce

Image
When we mention about God's love and sacrifice by which we're saved from our sins and transgressions, we recall His tears shedding for us like the drops of sweat. There is a deeper pain. What is more painful than shedding tears is bleeding. Jesus already knew that He would shed His blood and tear His flesh on the cross so that He instructed His disciples to set the Passover with bread and wine that was to give life to His children. Mt 26:26~28 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. If God said with just words, "I'll save you" and didn't do anything, it didn't take any effect. Jesus Christ laid His life on the cross by shedding the blood and tearing the f

[Basic] The Passover (4) - The Passover to Make Us to be One with God

Image
There is a secret to be one with God in the Bible. As Jesus is to be one with God the Father, we can be one with Jesus. How can we make it? If we follow the way Jesus showed us 2,000 years ago, we can be one with God. We're only safe and get salvation remaining in God and overcome the evil's power. Jn 10:26 "I and the Father(God the Father Jehovah) are one." The Jews picked up stones to kill Him because they denied Jesus is God the Son, the source of life. They didn't understand how miraculous event it was that they were to be one with Jesus and with blind eyes they didn't see the glory of Jesus, God the Son.

[Basic] The Passover (3) - The Passover to Protect Us from the Disasters

Image
What kind of fear can make people feel scared and dreadful the most? It is the fear of death, isn't it? In the Bible there are many similar terms referring to A disaster. It appears 117 times of 'disaster', 93 times of 'destruction', 28 times of 'calamity', 2 times of 'catastrophe' and 5 times of 'pestilence' in whole Bible. The terms are all related to death. Especially the term, 'pestilence' refers to plague which is regarded as the contagious and infectious disease killing people. Ez 7:5~7 Sovereign LORD says to the land of Israel: The end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land. I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices. Disaster! An unheard-of disaster is coming. If the disaster designated comes upon all the people, none of us could flee from it with our own power. Human is weak and feeble in front of huge natural disasters. Even a day we cannot make our life lo

[Basic] The Passover (2) - The Passover, God's First Commandment

Image
Usually people know that God's first commandment is to worship only God based on Ten Commandment of Moses. Ex 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me." Yes, it is true. Then I want to ask them how they can prove to worship only God and how much they assure that God approves of them. In the New Testament times when one of the Pharisees who was an expert in the law tested Him what was the first and greatest commandment, Jesus answered them as follows: Mt 22:36~37 Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment." Between the words from God the Father and from Jesus look different but the same. The way to keep the first commandment that we shall have no other gods before God the Father in the time of Moses and the way to keep the first and greatest commandment that we love the Lord our God with all our heart and soul and mind is the same; that

[Basic] The Passover (1) - The Origin of the Passover

Image
The Passover(1) The Origin of the Passover How important do you think 'promise' is? Some say that the promise must be taken seriously and be kept and some say that the promise is occasionally made to be broken. Which one do you agree with? In the Bible God promised us to give eternal life through the Passover. He uttered the word, 'giving eternal life' as the promise. 1Jn 2:5 And this is what he promised us--even eternal life. Then how can we get eternal  life through the Passover and  how was the Passover made by God? There had been an amazing history of the salvation dating back to the era of Exodus from Egypt and it is the origin of the Passover. Ex 12:12~15 On that same night - the fourteenth day of the first month on the sacred year - I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn, both men and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD. This is a day you are to commemorate for the generations to come you sh

[Basic] The Sabbath Day (4) - The Abolition and Restoration of the Sabbath Day

Image
The Sabbath Day (4) The Abolition and Restoration of the Sabbath Day The blessed Sabbath Day in God's commands was unfortunately abolished in A.D. 321 in the Roman Era. Through the Edict of Milan which was issued in A.D. 313, Christianity was acquired the legal status and looked go up high position by Roman emperor of Constantine. Due to the Edict of Milan, Christianity was treated the same as the other pagan religions, and it seemed to be protected to avoid the persecution such as being forced to convert into the pagan religion, paying much taxes, being drafted into the military and even putting to death in the unjust ways, etc. Also there was a epoch-making event in the Christianity history, it was Sunday Legislation that Roman emperor Constantine issued in A.D.321 in which all the churches had to attend the Sunday service based on the sun-god worship and followed the strict rules. If Christianity rejected it, they would be back to the former situation of the perse

[Basic] The Sabbath Day (3) - The Blessings of the Sabbath Day

Image
The Sabbath Day (3) The Blessings of the Sabbath Day God promised us to give the abundant blessings through the Sabbath Day and make us God's children whenever we keep it holy. God could designated all the seven days as His holy days and blessed them, but He chose only A day, the seventh day and called the Sabbath and made it holy and appointed it the Lord's Day. Ex 20: 10~11 The Seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. The Lord's Day refers to the Sabbath Day because God Elohim created the heavens and the earth, so They are only worthy of being called as the 'Creators'. Mt 12:7 "For the Son of Man[Jesus] is Lord of the Sabbath." Furthermore there is a big secret in the Sabbath. Just as God created all the creatures and the whole universe for six day

[Basic] The Sabbath Day (2) - What Day is the Sabbath Day?

Image
The Sabbath Day (2) What Day is the Sabbath Day? If someone claims to be God's people he has to know when the true service should be made according to the Bible. All Christians acknowledge that God created the heavens and the earth and all creatures and rested on the seventh day from all His work and designated it as Sabbath Day to be holy and blessed. In the Old Testament times God wanted to set apart His people from the other peoples, holy and godly, by keeping His commands including the Sabbath Day so that they can get the blessings and not fell into the destruction. Ex 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy." The Sabbath Day is the seventh day. God's people know it. Okay! Then what day is the Sabbath Day, in keeping it every week? There are many way to prove the exact day of the Sabbath. First of all we can find out the day of Sabbath from the calendar. On the calendar, there're seven days and it has the name respectively such a

[Basic] The Sabbath Day (1) - The Meaning of the Sabbath Day

Image
The Sabbath Day (1) The Meanings of the Sabbath Day The exact definition of the Sabbath Day comes from the work of creation of God Elohim, Who created the heavens and the earth for six days and rested on the seventh day from all Their work, but it is not like that of SDA(Seventh Day Adventists) which insists that a day begins from the time of sunset. Ge 2:2~3 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. After God Elohim created all things by Their will, They rested from the work of creation, and chose the seventh day and blessed it and made it holy as the Sabbath Day. The meaning of the Sabbath is the resting day, hole and blessed, and do nothing on that day except giving service to God the Creator. Therefore the First Coming Jesus kept the Sabbath Days as His custom and by Hi

[Basic] How Was the Sabbath Established? - The Origin of the Sabbath Day

Image
How Was the Sabbath Established? The Origin of the Sabbath Day I deeply moved by the truth of the Sabbath Day in this video. Among the seven days God distinguished the Sabbath from the others. It was not just because God marked it holy and gave the special blessing, but because He wanted to protect His children from the evil ones which was to tempt them to worship the sun-god of the pagan so that God's people would fell into the destruction and fall to be saved. Ex 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy." Furthermore God gave the abundant blessings to those who continued keeping the Sabbath days holy in remembrance of His creation. Let's think about it. What if my loving parents, though living in a distant region, choose a day among the seven days and meet me at a promised place? I'm willing to go on that day and happily wait the six days until I meet them. Mt 5:19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches
